January: Just for Me!

For a lot of us, the last month of the year can be a bit crazy! Running around getting ready for the holidays, then all the festivities! It’s a great time of year, spending time with those we love. Many times though, I find myself burnt out before the New Year even begins. December is the month of giving, let’s make January ‘just for us’!

By participating in this months’ challenge, I pledge to make/do at least one thing for me! I will take my time in thinking about what would make me happy, and make it happen before the month is over!

I think this is a great way to start out a year! This doesn’t even have to be crochet related and it definitely doesn’t have to be just one thing!

I think I might crochet myself this cardigan, something I’ve always wanted to do but never had the time. I’m also going to organize my house. I know this may seem like work but it really is for me, and I rather enjoy organizing my yarn related items! I’ll be posting my progress on the blog throughout the month!

I will also be offering a 50% discount on one pattern/pattern set each day this month. Use code ‘2014challenge’ at checkout in my Ravelry store!

Well the start of the new year has been trying. My husband and I have made the decision to pack up our home and put most of it in storage and purchase an RV. So I quit my job just before Christmas loaded the RV and on the road we were just before Christmas headed to Florida to spend Christmas with my parents. This is so different from a home it’s hard to get use too. Now that I am unemployed it’s time to start something that I have always wanted to do. And that is to start an online business. So my next step is to make enough items to start it page. I have my name and the logo so far, I just need to do the next steps though. Well that’s enough from me. Please watch for Lovin’ Hands Creations by Barb. I will tell you that I don’t make patterns but I do create from others patterns and I will give your pattern the promotional credit when I create them. Barb

Hello Barb! Change can be so hard but keep your head up and remember all the positive reasons you’re doing what you doing! As for the online business part, the most important thing I want to tell you is to try not to get discouraged. Some people think they can turn a hobby into a business overnight but it takes time (for most) to get a good client base, to get known, and to get an online business exactly that… a business! Feel free to share any links when you get up and running! I would love to check your work out! Much love, Crystal
