Ahuic Headwrap Free Crochet Pattern

Materials:

Like a Goddess! Named after the Aztec goddess of running water in rivers, streams, and waves, this headwrap has a fun wave-like texture but will keep you cozy warm on the coolest of days!

Sizing:

Size Height* Circumference
1-3 years 3.5-4” 15”
3-10 years 3.5-4” 17”
Teen/Adult 3.5-4” 19”

*Bulky yarn height is 3.5”, Super Bulky is 4”

Gauge:

10 dc by 6 rows = 4″

Pattern Key:

  • Ch: Chain
  • Sc: Single Crochet
  • Dc: Double Crochet
  • Slst(s): Slip Stitch(es)
  • Cl: Cluster (see page 3)
  • St(s): Stitch(es)
  • YO: Yarn Over
  • RS: Right Side
  • WS: Wrong Side
  • *: Repeat instructions between symbol until indicated
  • { }: work amount according to size

Special Pattern Notes: Beginning chain does not count as a stitch.

Pattern includes sizes 1-3 year, 3-10 year, and teen/adult.

Specialty Stitching:

Cluster (cl): *YO, insert hook front to back around post of next dc, YO and pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops on hook, repeat * 2 more times, YO and pull through all 4 loops on hook

 

Bulky Headwrap Free Crochet Pattern Instructions

Ch 11

R1: (WS) Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc across – 10 sts

R2: (RS) Ch 2, turn, dc in same and each st across – 10 sts

R3: Ch 2, turn, 2 dc in same, cl over next 3 dc, 2 dc in next 2 dc, cl over next 3 dc, 2 dc in last dc – 10 sts

R4: Ch 2, turn, dc in same and each st across – 10 sts

Repeat Row 3 and 4 until length measure {15, 17, 19}”

Ch 1, turn. With right sides together, slst through beginning chain and last row joining the two ends. Finish off and turn right side out. Weave in ends.

  1. is this US or UK instructions cause I have tried 4 times now to make this and it’s not looking anything like the picture.

          The right side and wrong side was listed incorrectly in the pattern. All other pattern instructions are correct. The pattern and website now link to a video tutorial. Please let me know if you have any further questions!
