Iaso Gloves ~ A Free Crochet Pattern

Every winter, there’s a common complaint from fiber artists. Dry, cracked hands can torment any that love to create yarn masterpieces. Snags from dry skin may have you applying lotion at regular intervals only to be disappointed to have a sticky residue that also hinders progress. That’s where the Iaso Gloves come in and this free moisturizing glove crochet pattern! Don that lotion and put these gloves on when sleeping, doing chores around the house, or many other daily activities. The glove ensures the lotion won’t rub off while rejuvenating your hands!

This pattern was designed for Make It For Me hosted by Elk Studio – Handcrafted Crochet Designs.
Named after the Greek goddess of cure, remedies, and healing, these gloves are made for crocheters! Though they can be used many times, the thicker cotton holds up wash after wash! Not a fan of moisturizing gloves? Make them with a warmer worsted weight yarn for the winter time!

Recommended for use when sleeping: Once gloves are complete, add an extra round of sc on Round 1 of Wrist and add elastic as you go. Find a tutorial here on how to add elastic.

Special Pattern Notes:

Beginning chain 1 does not count as a stitch. Always work the first stitch into joining stitch. Join to first stitch of each round. Chains are not listed in the stitch counts.

In addition, when counts are listed, they will be listed with small first, then medium, then large.

Gloves fit standard sizes but may need to be adjusted for a more personalized fit. Reduce or increase finger length by adding or subtracting rounds worked. If fingers are too loose, decrease a stitch or two on the second round of that finger. Take into consideration washing may shrink cotton fibers.

Also, these can be made as a winter glove. Thicker, warmer yarn is recommended when working gloves other than for moisturizing.

Recommended for use when sleeping: Once gloves are complete, add an extra round of sc on Round 1 of Wrist and add elastic as you go. Find a tutorial here on how to add elastic.
