Red Heart Yarn Used in MMCAL Pattern by Crystalized Designs

I choose Red Heart Soft or Red Heart With Love for two of my three projects. I love the softness of this yarn but the color varieties are really what sold me when choosing for this project. Most worsted weight yarns would work. The one I made that didn’t use all Red Heart, I used Scheepjes Bloom.

  • Yarn:
    Segment 1: 95 yards color A
    Segment 2: 80 yards color B
    Segment 3: 40 yards color A and 50 yards color B
  • Hook:  H 5.00mm
  • Notions: Scissors, yarn needle, optional: glue gun and glue sticks

  • Ch: Chain
  • Dc: Double Crochet
  • Dc2tog: Double Crochet 2 Together
  • Dc3tog: Double Crochet 3 Together
  • FLO: Front Loop Only
  • St(s): Stitch(es)
  • *: Repeat instructions between symbol until indicated

Skill Level : Intermediate

Gauge: 15 dc by 8 rows = 4″ (single stranded)

Beginning chain does not count as a stitch.

Is all of section one to be done with double strands of the first yarn? Or just the magic circle? It seems like it’d be too thick with just an h hook.

    • It is all worked with a double strand. 🙂

I am loving this pattern! I have not crocheted in a long time and I am a self-taught crocheter so I wasn’t sure how this was going to go. Not sure if mine is going to be perfect! Or even right but it is turning out so cute! I did have a question. Does it matter in section 2 if I did the first part of it with section 1 turned around? So it was almost like I was using the front loop to crochet in instead of the back. It’s still the same loop but my center was turned around. Hope that makes sense.

  4. Nancy

How do you get two rows of petals when it says round 5

    • There are two rows because there’s two bowls. Each bowl has a set of petals.
