Why Crocheted Scrubby Patterns?
December 2019 started my crocheted dish cloth craze with the Melted Snowman Scrubby! This year, there's a new crocheted scrubby every month, forever free on the blog. This year-long project will give us a chance to create a new one every month, as well as replace our previous one, but also use up that scrubby yarn we have on hand. Pumpkin Scrubby Crochet Pattern
Materials:
- Yarn: Premier Yarns Washi in Orange
- Hook: Furls 5.00mm LE Masur Birch Crochet Hook *get 15% off using code: crystalized15
- Scissors
- Yarn Needle
- Measuring Tape
Sizing:
One Size ~ 4"x 4.5"
Gauge:
14 dc, 6 rows = 4"
The Furls H 5.00mm Odyssey Crochet Hook was used to create this star dish cloth crochet pattern. When using this hook, my gauge differed from when using a different H hook. Please always check gauge to ensure the best project!

- Ch: Chain
- Hdc: Half Double Crochet
- Hdc2tog: Half Double Crochet 2 Together
- Slst: Slip Stitch
- St(s): Stitch(es)

Special Pattern Notes:
Beginning chain does not count as a stitch. Optional: Stick cinnamon stick for stem if making pumpkin as décor.
Pattern Instructions
Magic Circle
R1: Ch 1, 10 hdc in circle, join – 10 sts
R2: Ch 1, 2 hdc in each st around, join – 20 sts
R3: Ch 1, 2 hdc in same, hdc in next, *2 hdc in next, hdc in next, repeat * around, join – 30 sts
R4-6: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, join -30 sts
R7: Ch 1, hdc2tog starting in same, hdc in next, *hdc2tog over next 2, hdc in next, repeat * around, join – 20 sts
R8: Ch 1, hdc2tog starting in same, hdc2tog over next 2 sts around, join – 10 sts
Finish off leaving a tail approximately 75”. Take extra Washi Yarn and fill pumpkin until firm.
Thread yarn needle with long end. Weave through last 10 stitches and pull tight to close. Secure. Insert hook through woven together stitches and through the bottom of the magic circle. Wrap around side of pumpkin and back through the woven stitches. Pull tight.
Now repeat on the opposite side (across from the first). This should separate the pumpkin in two.
Repeat so you have 4 pumpkin sections. Repeat between each pull through for 8 pumpkin sections. Secure and tight excess yarn leaving enough to weave in end.
Pumpkin Leaf
Ch 7, starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc, hdc in next, dc in next 2, hdc in next, sc in last ch. Finish off and use ends to sew to pumpkin.
