Free Cupids Valentine Pouch Crochet Pattern
Materials:
- Yarn: Worsted Weight Yarn like RED HEART Soft Yarn in 2 colors: 20 yards in Color A (small heart), 30 yards of Color A and B (large heart using two strands held together)
- Hook: Size F, 3.75mm, Size H, 5.0mm
- Scissors
- Yarn Needle
- Measuring Tape
- Optional: 13″ Ribbon
- Optional: Small Treats

With Color A and F hook
R1: Ch 2, in 2nd ch from hook, 2 hdc – 2 sts
R2: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in each st – 4 sts
R3: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in same, hdc in next 2, 2 hdc in next – 6 sts
R4: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in same, hdc in next 4, 2 hdc in next – 8 sts
R5: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in same, hdc in next 6, 2 hdc in next – 10 sts
R6: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in same, hdc in next 8, 2 hdc in next – 12 sts
R7: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in same, hdc in next 10, 2 hdc in next – 14 sts
R8: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in same, hdc in next 12, 2 hdc in next – 16 sts
R9: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in same, hdc in next 14, 2 hdc in next – 18 sts
R10: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in same, hdc in next 16, 2 hdc in next – 20 sts
R11: Ch 1, turn, starting in same, hdc2tog, hdc in next 6, hdc2tog – 8 sts (leave remaining 10 sts for now)

Ch 1, work 4 sc down raw edge, slst in next unworked st from Row 10
R14: Ch 1, starting in same, hdc2tog, hdc in next 6, hdc2tog – 8 sts
R15: Ch 1, turn, starting in same, hdc2tog, hdc in next 4, hdc2tog – 6 sts
R16: Ch 1, turn, starting in same, hdc2tog, hdc in next 2, hdc2tog – 4 sts
Edging:
R1: Ch 1, work 18 sc down raw edge to beginning ch, 3 sc in beginning ch, work 18 sc up raw edge to hdc of Row 13, ch 1, sc in each of the 4 hdc, sc in ch 1, sc in each of the next 4 sc, slst in next slst, sc 4 up raw edge, ch 1, sc in each of the 4 hdc from row 16, ch 1, join to 1st sc – 60 sts including ch 1s in round as well as slst
R2: Ch 1, sc in same, ch 1, skip 1, *sc in next, ch 1, skip 1, repeat * around, join – 30 sts
Finish off and weave in ends.
Create second heart using two strands (picture shows 2 colors being used) and H hook, excluding Round 2 of Edging.
Using two strands of one color (approximately 18” each), sew smaller heart on edging round (through ch 1 spaces) onto larger heart from indent at top of heart clockwise 3/4th way around heart (see picture below). Sewn area approximately 12”. Fill heart pocket with goodies. Use small amount of ribbon (or more yarn) to tie a bow in upper left corner through both hearts to close. If using ribbon, trim edges.

Cute pattern! I have a question. Row 14, is there a “turn” after ch 1? If so, I end up back on the first “hump”.

No! There’s not meant to be a turn on Round 14. It’s been changed, so sorry!!
