The older I become, the more it seems cancer effects my life. One of the most important people in my life introduced me to what it felt like to be a family member of someone with cancer. My mother. Again this year, I'm dedication my Valda beanie to my mother. That's who this cancer beanie crochet pattern was created for.
October is cancer awareness month and Sweet Potato 3 is hosting the Cancer Awareness Challenge another year. You can find more details on the challenge HERE.
By downloading the cancer beanie crochet pattern, you’re pledging to create at least one hat from the pattern to donate to cancer center or patient. Spread the word and tag your project with #CrochetCancerChallenge when posting on any social media! Shares are also greatly appreciated!
This beanie is created for Ovarian Cancer and uses teal yarn. Now through Friday, October 9th, get the PDF for free with pledge!
Check out last year's pattern, the Nancy Beanie for uterine cancer (peach).
A little side note, yes this pattern has holes. Not everyone that goes through treatment looses their hair. My mother didn't. Instead, I try to find stitches that relate to the cancer. This year, the two puff stitches resembled ovaries. Last year's Nancy Beanie was an upside down triangle, representing the uterus.
