My children have been asking me for another pet for years! Though my family loves animals, I’m more worried about potty training a two year old than I am another pet. So what do I do when they persist? Create one for them instead! Now they have a bunny to love without all the extra care. And now you can make one too using this free faux fur bunny crochet pattern!

Fill head firmly with fiberfill.
R22: Ch 1, starting in same, work 5 sc2tog over next 10 sts, join – 5 sts
Finish off leaving a long tail. After that, weave tail through last 5 sts, secure. Also weave in ends.
Bunny Ears (make 2)
Next, leaving a longer tail for sewing ear in place, ch 5
R1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next 4 – 4 sts
R2: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in same, hdc in next 2, 2 hdc in last – 6 sts
R3-5: Ch 1, turn, hdc in same and each st across – 6 sts
R6: Ch 1, turn, starting in same, work 3 hdc2tog over next 6 sts – 3 sts
R7: Ch 1, turn, starting in same, hdc3tog – 1 st
Then, finish off and weave in Row 7 end. If using pipe cleaners to straighten ears, weave through stitches up along edge of ear to Row 7 and then back down making sure at least 1” of pipe cleaner is sticking out of each end. Shape ear as desired. Before sewing ear in place, stick ends of pipe cleaner into head of bunny, then use beginning tail to sew ear on bunny’s head. (Using the pipe cleaner takes some patience. Feel between stitches when working it around the edge of the ear. When sticking ends into head, keep at it. It may be difficult to pierce the fiberfill.)
Legs
Next, make 4 legs total; 2 all in chinchilla and 2 using chinchilla for the first 2 rounds and black panther for the last 4 rounds.
Magic Circle
R1: Ch 1, 5 hdc in circle, join – 5 sts
R2-6: Ch 1, hdc in same and each st around, join – 5 sts
Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing. Optional: stuff with fiberfill. Sew both chinchilla feet in front and other two in the back.
Bunny Details
Finally, weave small amount of pink yarn in a triangle shape for the bunny’s nose. Felt or a safety nose can also be used.
Use a pom pom maker to create a bunny tail. Sew on back end.

Love Odie! So much so that I decided to fight my carpal tunnel and try and crochet after a 4 year break. So far so good, though I suppose I should’ve started with yarn where I didn’t need to feel for stitches. 😉 LOVE this yarn though. So soft!
Thank you! And yes, the yarn is amazing! Wishing you painless crocheting!

Thank you!
I made this but scaled it down to the smallest hook I had since my yarn was really thin stuff, and I didn’t expect it be be the size of a pear! Lol so cute tiny!. I only used 1 color yarn too. It’s the tiniest cutest little bunny!
Omgoodness, I would love to see! Could you tag Crystalized Designs on social media or email a picture to [email protected]
Thank you for the cute pattern! I am having trouble on row 16 of the body. I am working into 22 stitches, but because of the hdc2tog am only ending up with 18 stitches that will be worked into for the next row (row 17). The pattern says I should have 24 stitches at the end of this row. Any ideas about how to work this out would be appreciated!
I’m also having this same exact problem! :/ starting to stress me out because I’ve been frogging my project for the past 2 hours trying to figure out what’s wrong here 🙁
Why doesn't this pattern say what color you start with?
Hi. You’ll want to start in Chinchilla.
What round does the head start to take shape?
hi I made an alteration of this pattern for myself with simplified notation when working the pattern in only one color, is it okay to share a link to the document here? it's not a website or anything, just a gdoc page.
My granddaughter just lost her bunny this morning, I saw this bunny on Pinterest and am going to make it for her in memory of Panda. Thank you so much for this pattern,
it looks just like Panda.
