Tis the season to enjoy all things related to the holidays! One of my favorite things is holiday cookies! I'm not picky, any will really do but I love gingerbread people! That's what inspired the Gingerbread Ami. This crochet gingerbread amigurumi pattern can be made with a bow tie or hair bow to create the most cuddly gingerbread person around!

Crochet Gingerbread Amigurumi Pattern
Materials:
- Yarn: 142 yards (2 skeins) in Fable Fur, colorway Oso and a small amount in Eisbar; small amount of Mighty Stitch Worsted in red
- Hook: Furls Odyssey F 3.75mm and N 9.00mm *get 15% off using code: crystalized15
- Poly-Fil or Fiberfill
- 2 -12mm Black Plastic Safety Eyes
- Scissors
- Stitch Marker
- Yarn Needle
- Measuring Tape
- Optional: 2- 3/4" Corduroy Buttons (for cheeks)
- Optional: 3-1/2" buttons (for belly)
Sizing:
One Size ~ 13" height
Gauge:
9 hdc by 5 rows = 4”
Furls Odyssey Crochet Hooks were used to create this gingerbread amigurumi crochet pattern. When using these hooks, my gauge differed from when using a different brand. Please always check gauge to ensure the best project!

Pattern Instructions
Legs of Gingerbread Ami
Magic Circle (or Ch 3 and join to make a circle) with N hook
R1: Ch 1, 5 hdc in circle, join – 5 sts
R2-6: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, join – 5 sts
Finish off. Repeat instructions without finishing off on second leg. Next round will join the legs with a chain. Then, crocheting around the first leg, across the chain, around the second leg, and across the other side of the chain to start the body.
R7: Ch 3, join to any st on second leg, ch 1, hdc in same and next 4 sts around second leg, hdc in each ch across to second leg, hdc in each st around first leg, hdc across opposite side of next 3 chs, join- 16 sts
R8: Ch 1, hdc in same and next, 3 hdc in next, hdc in next 7, 3 hdc in next, hdc in remaining 5 sts, join – 20 sts
R9: Ch 1, hdc in same and next 2, 3 hdc in next, hdc in next 9, 3 hdc in next, hdc in remaining 6 sts, join - 24 sts
R10: Ch 1, hdc in same and each st around, join – 24 sts
R11: Ch 1, hdc in same and next 3, hdc3tog, hdc in next 9, hdc3tog, hdc next 5, join – 20 sts
R12-13: Ch 1, hdc in same and each st around, join – 20 sts
Slst to the left 5 sts. The next Row, work over the slsts just made.
R14: Ch 1, turn, hdc in same and next 8 sts – 9 sts
R15: Turn, hdc in next st and next 6 – 7 sts
Finish off and weave in end or tuck inside Gingerbread Ami. Skip 1 stitch to the left of Row 16 on Round 15 and join in next st.
R16: Ch 1, hdc in same and next 8 sts – 9 sts
R17: Turn, hdc in next st and next 6 – 7 sts
Do not finish off. Next, chains will close the arm holes and decreases will give the Gingerbread Ami a neckline.
R18: Ch 1, turn, sc3tog over next 3 sts, sc in next, sc3tog over next 3 sts, ch 2, rotate work to Row 15, sc3tog over next 3 sts, sc in next, sc3tog over next 3 sts, ch 2, join – 6 sts
R19: Ch 1, hdc in same and next 2, 5 hdc in ch 2 space, hdc in next 3, 5 hdc in ch 2 space, join – 16 sts
R20: Ch 1, hdc in same and next 4, 3 hdc in next, hdc in next 7, 3 hdc in next, hdc in next 2, join – 20 sts
R21: Ch 1, hdc in same and next 5, 3 hdc in next, hdc in next 9, 3 hdc in next, hdc in next 3, join – 24 sts
R22-24: Ch 1, hdc in same and each st around, join – 24 sts
R25: Ch 1, starting in same hdc3tog over next 3 sts, hdc in next 9, hdc3tog over next 3 sts, hdc in next 9, join – 20 sts
R26: Ch 1, starting in same hdc3tog over next 3 sts, hdc in next 7, hdc3tog over next 3 sts, hdc in last 7 sts, join – 16 sts
Surface crochet mouth in place and add safety eyes now. Lightly stuff with Fiberfil.
R27: Ch 1, starting in same hdc2tog around, join – 8 sts
R28: Ch 1, starting in same sc2tog around, join – 4 sts
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through last 4 sts and pull tight to close. Secure and weave in ends.
Stuff the Gingerbread Ami slightly with Fiberfil through the arm holes. Do not overstuff. Ami should be somewhat flat like a cookie.
Arms of Gingerbread Ami
Join yarn in the skipped stitch on Round 13. Rotate to work up raw edges towards neckline.
R1: Ch 1, sc in same, 3 sc up the raw edge, sc2tog up raw edge, slst in neck, rotate piece to work down opposite side of raw edge, sc2tog down raw edge, 3 sc down raw edge, join –10 sts
R2: Ch 1, hdc in same and next 3, hdc2tog over next 2 sc2tog skipping the slst, hdc in remaining 3 sts, join – 8 sts
R3-4: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, join – 8 sts
R5: Ch 1, starting in same 4 sc2tog over 8 sts, join - 4 sts
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through last 4 stitches. Pull tight to close and secure. Repeat with other Armhole.
Using Eisbar Fable Fur and a yarn needle, zig zig ends of feet and hands. Secure and weave in ends.
Bow Tie
Ch 7 and F hook
Row 1: Starting in second ch from hook, hdc each st across – 6 sts
Rows 2-8: Ch 1, turn, hdc in each st across – 6 sts
Edging Round: Ch 1, turn, 3 sc in same, sc in next 4, 3 sc in next, rotate piece to work down raw edge, work 9 sc evenly down raw edge, rotate to work along beginning ch, 3 sc in first ch, sc in next 4 chs, 3 sc in next 4 chs, rotate piece to work down raw edge, work 9 sc evenly down raw edge, join – 38 sts
Finish off and weave in ends. Loop same yarn around middle and pinch to create a bow. Secure and sew on neck or head.
Add 3 buttons to belly to complete the Gingerbread Ami!
