It never really occured to me that I'd enjoy designing a free crochet mug cozy pattern. I love coffee mugs but I also don't want to cover any of the mug designs I have (as you can see in the Ho Ho Ho Pillow Cover pattern). But that doesn't mean I haven't gifted numerous mugs filled with hot chocolate and candy throughout the years. Which gave me the idea a fun, Christmas mug cozy crochet pattern is just what I wanted to do!

- Joined on the bottom 2 rows, worked flat remaining rows.
- Joined on the bottom 2 rows, worked flat next 16 rows, joined on the top 2 rows.
- Worked completely flat. Blocking is recommended. Find a wet blocking tutorial here.

A long chain is created on Row 20 to wrap around the mug handle and loop around the button. Not a fan? Chain 11 instead and add a second button at the top or completely leave off the loop.
