Ho Ho Ho Wrist Warmers ~ A Free Crochet Pattern

The Ho Ho Ho Crochet Pattern Series wouldn't be complete without a wrist warmer! These are so quick, so easy, and perfect for gifting. And if you made the Ho Ho Ho Cowl using the recommended Lion Brand Hometown yarn, you have just enough left over to use this wrist warmer crochet pattern!

Wrist Warmer Crochet Pattern


Materials: 

Sizing:

One Size Fits Most: 7" height, 7" circumference


Gauge:

8 sc by 9 rows = 4"

The  Furls N 9.00mm Odyssey Crochet Hook was used to create this pattern. When using this hook, my gauge differed from when using a different N hook. Please always check gauge to ensure the best project!

  • Sc3tog: Single Crochet 3 Together
  • Slst: Slip Stitch
  • St(s): Stitch(es)
  • FLO: Front Loop Only
  • BLO: Back Loop Only
  • *: Repeat according to instructions

Cut two 75" (or 2 yards) lengths using Color B. Make two 1 3/8” pom poms using Color B.

Pattern Instructions


Cuff         

Ch 6

R1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each st across – 5 sts

R2-15: Ch 1, turn, using BLO sc in each st across – 5 sts

Ch 1, turn. Match Row 1 and 15 together. Slst through first beg ch and BLO of last sc on Row 15. Continue to slst through both beg ch and back loop of corresponding sc on last row. This joins the two ends. Flip piece so slsts are on the inside of the wrist cuff.

R16: Ch 1, sc in each row end – 15 sts

Remaining rounds are worked in BLO. Do not join. Work around continuously. Use a stitch marker to mark first or last st of each round.

R17: Sc in same and next 3, 2 sc in next, *sc in next 4, 2 sc in next, repeat * around – 18 sts


Left Wrist Warmer

R18-19: Sc in same and next 8 switching to Color B, sc in next switching to Color A, sc in next switching to color B, sc in next switching to Color A, sc in remaining sts around – 18 sts

R20: Sc in same and next 8 switching to Color B, sc in next 3 switching to color A, sc in remaining sts around – 18 sts

R21: Sc in same and next, ch 3, skip 3, sc in next 4 switching to Color B, sc in next switching to Color A, sc in next switching to color B, sc in next switching to Color A, sc in remaining sts around – 15 sts

R22: Sc in same and next, sc3tog over next 3 chs, sc in next 4 switching to Color B, sc in next switching to Color A, sc in next switching to color B, sc in next switching to Color A, sc in remaining sts around – 16 sts

Color B is no longer used. Weave in Color B ends.

R23-25: Sc in each st around – 16 sts

Slst in next. Finish off and weave in all ends. Repeat cuff directions and continue to Right Wrist Warmer instructions.


Right Wrist Warmer

R18-19: Sc in same and next 8 switching to Color B, sc in next switching to Color A, sc in next switching to color B, sc in next switching to Color A, sc in remaining sts around – 18 sts

R20: Sc in same and next 8 switching to Color B, sc in next 3 switching to color A, sc in remaining sts around – 18 sts

R21: Sc in same and next 8 switching to Color B, sc in next switching to Color A, sc in next switching to color B, sc in next switching to Color A, sc in next, ch 3, skip 3, sc in remaining sts around – 15 sts

R22: Sc in same and next 8 switching to Color B, sc in next switching to Color A, sc in next switching to color B, sc in next switching to Color A, sc in next, sc3tog over next 3 chs, sc in remaining sts around – 16 sts

Color B is no longer used. Weave in Color B ends.

R23-25: Sc in each st around – 16 sts

Slst in next. Finish off and weave in all ends

Thumbs

Left Thumb

Join with a sc (counts as first st in Round 1) in side of sc on the back of the warmer from Round 21 {pic A} and the front loop from the stitch right below the side stitch on Round 20 {pic B}. This will close the gap on the thumb.

R1: Sc in BLO of next 3 skipped sts from Round 20 {pic C}, sc in FLO of next stitch on Round 21 {pic D} and side of next sc from Round 21 {pic E}, sc in 3 chs {pic F & G} – 8 sts

R2: Sc in next 7 sts, slst in last st – 8 sts

Finish off and weave in ends.

Attach a pom pom in Color B to the right of the H. {pic H}

Right Thumb

Join with a sc (counts as first st in Round 1) the front loop from the stitch right below the side stitch on Round 20 and in side of sc on the back of the warmer from Round 21. This will close the gap on the thumb.

R1: Sc in next 3 chs, sc in FLO of next stitch on Round 20 and side of next sc from Round 21, sc in BLO of next 3 skipped sts from Round 20 – 8 sts

R2: Sc in next 7 sts, slst in last st – 8 sts

Finish off and weave in ends.

Attach a pom pom in Color B to the right of the H.

Before finishing a stitch prior to a new color, pull through new color on last pull through.

Crochet Color Behind 1

First Row: Work over Color A.

Crochet Color Behind 3

Switch to Color B on last pull through.

Crochet Color Behind 5

Second Row: When joining Color B, take yarn from left and loosely cross stitches.

Switch to Color A on last pull through.

Crochet Color Behind 4

Work over non-working yarn across H.

Crochet Color Behind 6

Work over both stretched Color B and non-working yarn.

Even when working Color A, work over both stretched Color B and non-working yarn.
